Morris Chappell Landscaping transformed the overall site, while The Good Earth Garden Center redesigned two of the flowerbeds with more low-profile plants so as not to obstruct the view of the home from the street. “I lowered the windows on the front also,” Judy says. “They are almost floor to ceiling, and this increased the vertical lines and the view.”

A ranch-style Little Rock home receives a facelift thanks to well-planned landscaping and extra design touches

Little Rock resident Judy Caruthers has been in the interior design business for 18 years, and she most recently turned her talents to her own home. “I purchased this house three years ago, and immediately began a large remodel,” she says. “The previous owners had made major strides to update the exterior, including adding the eyelid roof line above the door and installing the plantation shutters. For such a ranch-style home with strong horizontal lines, the addition of vertical lines was key.”
