Take advantage of the current cool weather to jumpstart your garden for spring
November 2007
![]() The Farrells’ newly renovated backyard by The Good Earth in Little Rock includes a stone walkway that winds through the freshly planted beds, which are filled with hellebores, an evergreen perennial that blooms in winter, Gumpo azaleas, spreading yews, Deep Blue and Primrose pansies, dwarf Hinoki cypress, Little Gem magnolias, Bloodgood Japanese maples and a variety of other perennials that promise color and texture throughout the season. |
A curbside pull-off area in the front of the Farrells’ home is crafted of native stone and features beds filled with dwarf English boxwoods and pots filled with hardy plantings like Cast Iron plants, Deep Blue and Primrose pansies, golden moneywort, red ornamental cabbage and asparagus fern. |
An architectural sundial breaks up the space in the flower beds and provides visual contrast to the plantings. |
