DESIGN TRENDS FOR 2010: The softer side of modern is becoming more popular, with homeowners using a mixture of styles and colors—envision a lavender-colored room with modern furniture mixed with antique treasures. Colors we haven’t seen for a while are coming back, like purple, cinnamon and green, and wallpaper is back in a big way. These fads can be fun, but don’t let them dominate your home. Work them in sparingly with accent pieces and accessories.
