Chris Norwood of Tipton & Hurst prepares a casual and colorful tailgating tabletop
For this tailgating tablescape, Tipton & Hurst’s lead designer Chris Norwood played off the Razorbacks’ and Red Wolves’ signature red for a festive fall gathering, from plates and linens to the floral centerpiece.
Using a red-and-white Golden Rabbit enamelware bowl as his vessel, Chris started the centerpiece with a base of kale and layered in varying textures of greenery, including dusty miller, viburnum, and green millet, around it. Of course, the star of the show are bright red Gerber daisies.
The table is set with Vietri red and white dinnerware, Golden Rabbit enamelware (which can go from the refrigerator to the oven to the table!), and Juliska Berry & Thread melamine wine glasses.
The red-and-white color scheme is a favorite of Chris’s because it’s versatile enough to be used other times throughout the year, such as Christmas and Valentine’s Day. However, if your team has a different color combo, Chris notes the Golden Rabbit serving pieces are available in a variety of colors.
For tabletop accessories, Chris chose durable pieces for easy prep and cleanup. For example, the tablecloth, which is actually a red-and-white linen throw, is machine-washable. It is paired with Vietri’s “Papersoft” biodegradable napkins, which add to the kicked-up casual feel. The stemware is also melamine, which means even if there’s a fumble you won’t find broken glass on your back deck.
Whether outside the stadium or in the comfort of your own home, steal one or two of these ideas from Chris for a stunning setup. And, remember, win or lose, at least your tailgate will score big with friends and fans!
