We sat down with David Munsey, III, of Better Lawns & Gardens to talk all things outdoor living and landscaping when it comes to building a new home.
At Home in Arkansas: When is the best time to start planning your landscaping when building a new home?
David Munsey: Although the landscape and outdoor living spaces may be the last piece to the puzzle, it is never to early to start planning them.
AH: So, how early should you call a landscaper?
DM: We encourage folks to involve their landscape and outdoor living professional from the beginning.
Make a plan to bring the same kind of thoughtful design from inside your home to the living spaces outside your home. – David Munsey, III
AH: What are the benefits of planning landscaping early?
DM: Not only does this help to make sure your entire property flows as one unit from the front entry to the back patio, but it can also be of great help on the financial planning side of your project.
AH: How can one ensure that the design is cohesive from space to space throughout a home?
DM: Make a plan to bring the same kind of thoughtful design from inside your home to the living spaces outside your home.

AH: Any final advice for those who are starting a new build?
DM: Building a new home can be one of the most fun experiences you have if you plan properly. We would love the opportunity to help you with your new project from design to implementation.
