Her Art | Clay is Amber’s true passion and has been her medium of choice since discovering the pottery wheel at age 10.
Work Evolution | For the past eight years, she has focused on making jewelry as a way to get her art out into the world. “Jewelry is my interpretation of installation art, using the person to carry tiny sculptures that I created.”
Go-to Color Combo | Black, white, and gold. “I’ve been including terracotta with this classic trio lately to add a bit of contemporary warmth.”
Arkansas Inspiration | Nature. “I love watching the four seasons change, hiking Mount Nebo, and looking at rock formations, caves, and waterfalls. These are ancient lands inhabited by many before us. I appreciate this, and I am mindful that it’s a privilege to walk the same grounds freely.”
On the Horizon | Amber’s new jewelry line is set to launch this summer. In addition, she’s working on larger sculptural pieces and wall art using various types of clay.Meaningful Creations
Meaningful Creations | “It gives me so much happiness to see a piece I’ve made have a purpose. The simplest thing, like watching someone sip warm coffee from a mug I made, brings such satisfaction. I think it’s because it elevates everyday life and makes that moment just a little bit sweeter.”
Find Her Work | Amber’s art is available at the Crystal Bridges Museum Store in Bentonville as well as Beyond Cotton 2 in Little Rock. Learn more at amberelea.com or follow along on Instagram (@amberelea).
