“I go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order.”
-John Burroughs
Margaret Clark pauses to reflect in the William E. “Bill” Clark Presidential Park Wetlands, which is named after her late husband. The 13-acre wetlands restoration endeavor–supported by an allliance of civic and conservationist organizations–provides a viable habitat for wildlife and river life along the banks of the Arkansas River. The land and water adjacent to The Clinton Presidential Center and the headquarters of Heifer International now sustains an array of species that enhances the enjoyment and education of tourists and visitors. The naming of the wetlands represents a heartfelt tribute to Bill Clark’s personal dedication to community leadership and environmental preservation in Arkansas.
