Written by long-time resident Jennifer Ash Rudick, Palm Beach Chic brings to life the wide array of design styles across the island. She notes that the homes “show the remarkable results that can be achieved through the blending of professional skill, unfettered imagination, and the natural beauty of the subtropics.”
The subtropical beauty of this cover is what drew me to this book at the new, and oh-so-cute, Fresh ID in the Heights. I immediately reached for the ritzy, rhinestone fish clutch that was close by to take this shot on a perfectly textured grasscloth-covered dresser.
The book takes you on a journey of many different design styles across the famous island. Right now I want to take you on a journey of some of my favorite tropical fabrics and wallpapers, starting with another Palm Beach resident and significant designer of the area, Lilly Pulitzer. We all know of her iconic clothing and accessory line, but she has translated that resort style into a fabric, trim, and wallcovering collection with Lee Jofa.
“Palm Beach was Lilly’s playground and everyone was welcome.”

“I realize that Palm Beach was basically what it has always been – the land of dreams come true…” – Jennifer Ash Rudick
