It’s no secret that we’re seriously smitten for Anne of The City Sage. We visit Anne’s delicious blog daily in search of tips and all kinds of lovely things, and her incredibly large vocabulary and witty way with words make it all the more entertaining! (Her Houseguest series is a perennial favorite.) We are so excited Anne wanted to stop by and say hello with a guest post. Her holiday post for At Home was a big hit…check out her spring installation below!
Thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule for a visit, Anne!
With warm weather comes the urge to spruce up my space–and I like to think of the outdoors as just another room waiting to be decorated! Channel a coastal cottage vibe with wicker chairs and a farmhouse-inspired table. An off-duty drinks holder functions as a planter. Mix traditional garden staples like a ceramic stool and terrarium lantern with cozy touches like floral pillows and a striped rug. The result is the ultimate patio escape!
You don’t have to travel to Marrakesh for an evening of candlelit lounging. Bring the bazaar home with iron filigree chairs and a low bronze coffee table. A copper torch and paper lantern lend a mysterious glow to a graphic rug and ethnic cushions, while a seagrass pitcher and cup make even iced tea seem exotic. How very chic–or should I say sheik? (Groan!)
I dream of one day spending a summer in the French countryside, but until then a backyard homage to Provence will do. Folding bistro chairs and a worn wooden table make for a charming vignette. Pillows from vintage feed sacks add authentic flair. Finish the look with rustic wire pendants, handblown glass jugs, and a basket worthy of holding eggs from even the snootiest of French hens. C’est magnifique, non?
