For so many of us our front door is the homeâs main focal point. For others, the garage door takes the lead role. Either way, as an important design element(s), these entrances need emphasis and color. The easiest way to update your outside and change your homeâs exterior look is to paint your front and garage doors. For that matter, repaint your doors every year or every few years and your house will always be fresh and feel new. Go ahead and take it a step further and add a stripe or two on your door as you would the interior walls of your house.
Here I went ahead and painted the front door to look like a tarnished metal door. The predominant color is taken from the brick, so even though the door stands out, it still blends.
If you want to add a bit more emphasis to your doors,  add a wide vertical stripe.  In these photos,  both doors were painted a nice rich olive green and then a vibrant stripe was added in my favorite color, apple green. To tone the apple green down just a few notches, I brushed over this wonderful color with coffee colored stain. Now, both garage doors and the front door match, complement the brick, and add interest, color, and style.
Keeping it real, fresh and stylish,
