A South Arkansas farm hosts friends, family and duck hunters alike, especially during this time of year. The McEntire Place Plantation, the weekend retreat of Margaret and Jay McEntire, was purchased 20 years ago. After adding on to the property over the years, they can now sleep 24 comfortably. Jay McEntire is known for rescuing barn wood and salvaging other materials around the area to use on the property. These salvaged galvanized tin walls surround one of the guest house’s three bedrooms, while vintage plantation-style shutters create a natural headboard. Read all about this historic private retreat on the At Home in Arkansas website or in the November Best of Southern Style issue, on newsstands.
