There’s nothing quite like the taste of a sweet, juicy Arkansas strawberry. Come spring, the clamor for the vine-ripened fruits begins. By the carton or the flat, pickers from around the state head to farms to purchase the bright red, ready-to-eat beauties. While some will no doubt be eaten on the drive home, the majority make their way into jams, strawberry shortcake stacks, or breakfast bowls to be enjoyed.
Get your fill by heading to local berry farms in Cabot, Benton, Bald Knob, and other patches across the state. Or, make a stop at a roadside stand to enjoy the fruits of someone else’s labor. However you acquire them, there’s no wrong way to savor this sweet start to the growing season.
May is for strawberry festivals. Check out the Cabot Strawberry Fest (May 1-3) and the Fayetteville Strawberry Festival (May 18) for a juicy good time! Looking for more upcoming food events?
