When homeowner Justine Rose decided to purchase her current home—a midcentury modern house designed by Ernie Jacks—she knew it would need a few updates to not only reflect her family’s style and way of life, but also to keep the house in working order. “I know purists are not going to love that I painted some of the paneling, but you have to fix what’s going on on the inside of the walls to keep it intact,” she says. “We stayed within the footprint and the time period, but made updates to make it work for us and for today.” Read about the history of the house, its architectural significance, and how Justine approached her renovations in our November issue.
