If you’ve picked up a copy of our October issue, or checked it out online (click here), you’ve seen our gorgeous fall fashion shoot. But what you haven’t seen is all the work (well, it was fun work) that went behind it. Here are a few behind-the-scenes shots of the planning it takes to produce a fashion shoot, from beginning to end. Naturally, it does require lots of Starbucks.
First, we gather potential ensembles from boutiques statewide and sort through them in the office. (Lucky us!)
Then we pack it all up and head to the location. Clearly, it’s a team effort!
Then we unpack it… Recognize that blue dress?
The model arrives for hair/makeup by Angela Alexander (also the artist behind our fall 2009 weddings issue, out soon!).
Zooey Deschanel fans notice the magazine tear on the left, our inspiration.
Meanwhile, art director Mandy Keener works with photographer Nancy Nolan to style some shots outside…
…as a curious horse in the neighboring field looks on.
More primping outside, then we’re set.
Wait, Starbucks break.
The royal treatment. Angela and assistant photographer Rett Peek create shade on a sunny day.
Marketing coordinator Lauren Quick and ad coordinator Laura LaRue, who helped style the shoot, watch from the sidelines.
A makeshift photographer’s desk in the barn, where the images were uploaded and reviewed throughout the day. Looks like that’s a wrap! On to the next…
