When owner Merry Kline decided to open an updated location of her beauty and cosmetics boutique, Belle & Blush, she approached one of her customers known for her design savvy to help with the project. “Tobi and her daughter actually shopped in our store before this project,” Merry says. “Because we cater to women and so many mother-daughter duos love our store, I felt like Tobi would really understand Belle & Blush and the experience we want to provide.”
“We really wanted to create an inspiring and comfortable shopping experience rather than just another store,” Merry adds. “We also focused on making sure that it felt fun and interactive but, at the same time, upscale.”
“Our goal was to create a space with this aesthetic while maximizing the function and flow of the store to best serve their customers,” Tobi says of the project. “While these product areas are defined, the overall color palette and the streamlined design of the custom display fixtures gives unity and cohesiveness to the space.”
Here’s a little more about each of those areas, with commentary by Tobi:
“Adding a bit of sass into the seating area where brass meets blush and a bit of leopard was not only fun, but functional, too, because this is the perfect place for moms, dads, and kids to relax while their makeup-loving family members shop away.”
“I love how we used architectural details, accent lighting, and flooring changes to help define different areas for each product type. The bath and body area even has a sink to make sampling products easier and less messy.”
“I also love the chandelier that hangs in the center of the store over the checkout counter, because it’s glamorous and fun and a great focal point when stepping through those fabulous pink double doors!”
“We covered a lot of ground but each area maintains the clean but gorgeous signature style Belle and Blush is now known for.”
Thanks to Merry and Tobi for sharing this experience with the At Home team!
