Color, color, color…this time of year has us thinking about little ways to brighten our rooms. One of my favorites is with flowers, and look how just a few yellow mums give this chic brown and white room an extra punch.

Designer Kevin Walsh of Bear-Hill Interiors used a Schumacher wallpaper to set the tone in this breakfast room in a Little Rock family home, then lacquered the chairs in white and added wipeable fabric on the seats to make them family friendly. A touch of yellow is all that was needed to brighten the palette–arranged in a few containers kept grouped on the table as a casual centerpiece.
