I love retro anytime of the year, especially at the holidays. Now add in gold confetti, cocktails and carbs, and we’re all set! This photo of Jean Patchett from the 50s always inspires me to attend some sort of holiday soiree so I can dress just like her. And what’s a holiday without overeating, am I right? My idea of a holiday party is intimate, but with no lack of flair. Even if you just have six of your girlfriends over for appetizers and drinks, there is no reason not to get all dressed up and feel elegant! These apple cider cocktails from Williams-Sonoma are sure to put everyone in the holiday spirit.
Cheers,
Bri from Designlovefest
Apple cider takes on a grown-up twist with the addition of Calvados, an apple brandy produced in France’s Normandy region.
Ingredients:
- Ice cubes as needed
- 1/2 cup apple cider
- 1/4 cup Calvados
- 1/4 cup brandy
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 2 tsp. pure maple syrup
- 2 apple slices, cut sides rubbed with lemon juice, for garnish
Directions:
Chill 2 cocktail glasses. Fill a tall cocktail shaker half full with ice. Add the apple cider, Calvados, brandy, lemon juice and maple syrup. Cover with the lid and shake vigorously for 10 seconds. Strain into the chilled glasses.
For the fruit garnish, cut a thin slit partway into each apple slice and perch a slice on the rim of each glass. Serve immediately. Serves 2.
