Happy Monday! Hope you had a great weekend. Today we’re getting our inspiration from designer Courtney Stone’s recent renovation of her parents’ El Dorado kitchen. Stone, a designer with Sydney Murphy Design in downtown El Dorado, grew up in this 1927 colonial-style home; she therefore knows the space and understands that changes must occur to continue to accommodate her parents’ needs. To encourage the marriage of old and new, Stone incorporated rich woods into the new modern white palette with wood cabinetry in the kitchen, as well as in the wood-grain porcelain floor tiles. For added color, Stone brought in a yellow, gray, and white ikat fabric on the upholstered furniture in the built-in desk area (seen here) and also in the attached seating area.
