Thanksgiving weekend in Arkansas has a special event associated with it: The Duck Festival, in Stuttgart, where the World Championship Duck Gumbo Cookoff takes place the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
So At Home took a jaunt to the Arkansas Delta this month, getting the scoop first hand on where a gal might want to shop and antique if she was visiting the region for the festivities. We visited with our friend Cathy Campbell, co-owner of the gift and home furnishings shop Handworks and the new antique venue City Limitless, and she had great tips for where to go and what to do in the region. You can see the full story here.
In honor of the Duck Festival, and our fun Delta journey, we’re giving away two books highlighting the region.
First Shooting Light, which is a photographic journal of hunting clubs in the Mississippi flyway, and
Wild Abundance, a cookbook anthology of the region, which includes a section with Little Rock’s own Lee Richardson, executive chef of Ashley’s in the Capital Hotel. We took a sneak peek at his own kitchen too, here. If you’d like to win this wonderful pair of books, leave a comment and you’ll be entered in the drawing (to take place on November 16th).
We’re thankful for each and every one of our loyal At Home readers, and in honor of the holiday season, we have lots of holiday goodies to giveaway. From music to home decor to holiday entertaining, we have you covered with gifts to give or simply enjoy. We’ll post a giveaway item on our blog each Monday leading up to Christmas, and if you leave a comment on the post, you’ll be entered to win.
For today’s giveaway…the gift of music. See that great little speaker on the bar? It’s a Sonos Play: 3 wireless music system, which streams all the songs stored on your computer or through online music services to any room of the house. Find out more about it here and here.
Sonos has graciously offered (1) PLAY:3 music system with a ZoneBridge that connects to your router so you can wirelessly play music in any (and every) room of the house (a $299 value) to one lucky At Home reader. Just leave a comment on this post–tell us why you’d like a Sonos player, or even just name your favorite holiday tune–and you’ll be entered to win. We’ll draw the winner randomly on Sunday, December 4th. And on Dec. 5th, we’ll announce our next giveaway (hint: it’s something new for the holidays from designer Tobi Fairley!).
The happy holiday giveaways continue, and this week, we have an extra special treat for your home from designer Tobi Fairley: a pair of holiday pillows from her new collection!
Tobi decked the halls for the holidays at her parents’ house with fabrics and pillows from her new collection, which At Home featured along with holiday entertaining tips in our December issue.
If you’d like to be entered to win the pair of pillows in a random drawing on Dec. 11th, just pop over to the At Home story or visit Tobi’s blog and then leave us a comment here about your favorite look—a holiday decor idea, what pillow color you’d like to win, whatever captures your attention.
Happy holidays, and stay tuned for more giveaways each Monday this month!
We have our winner for the Play:3 Wireless Music System and Zone Bridge unit from Sonos:
It’s comment #1, generated by a Random.org drawing…and the winner is: Meredith Mashburn. Congrats Meredith! We’ll be contacting you shortly to arrange delivery.
Stay tune for a new giveaway beginning tomorrow! And it’s a fun, holiday treat: 2 pillows from Tobi Fairley’s new home collection! Be sure to check back and leave a comment.
What a wonderful time we had at P. Allen Smith’s garden home retreat, where we photographed his holiday decor to share with you in our December issue.
Allen has so many great ideas that we wanted to share even more of his tips with you. So, he graciously offered to giveaway a signed copy of his cookbook:
And a trio of his gardening card decks, with how-to tutorials:
We’re going to make two lucky blog winners happy and giveaway the book to one and the gardening how-to’s to another! Leave us a comment telling us your favorite holiday decor idea from Allen’s own home, and you’ll be entered to win.
Winners will be chosen in a random drawing via random.org on December 18th. Happy holidays! We’re looking forward to reading your comments.
