In our July 2018 issue, we featured a midcentury ranch house updated with all the modern and sleek sensibilities of its owner, Jay Howard’s, popular home interiors brand HOWSE. Today, we’re sharing before photos from this hidden gem on Beaver Lake. One of the biggest changes to the home was swapping the location of the kitchen and dining rooms—what a transformation!

The Howse House: Countertops, Paint & More!
We’re back with an update on The Howse House in Northwest Arkansas. The Howse team has been rocking and rolling on the renovation and here are a lot of images to fill you all in how everything is looking on Champions. They’ve installed beautiful counter tops in the kitchen and bathrooms and painted the kitchen cabinets a beautiful shade of gray. Scroll thru the pictures below to see the progress of The Howse House.
First you’ll see images of the kitchen and dining area. The wall paint color is Worldly Gray and the cabinet paint color is Intellectual Gray, both from Sherwin Williams. The counter tops shown below are all marble that will have basin sinks on top of them.
And, check out this amazing stone they added to cover the entire fireplace wall. Such a unique focal point. The stone here is a custom gray blend stack stone that Jay developed (very cool!). We love it!
They added tile to the master bathroom…We are just loving the entire color scheme we are seeing so far.
And, they’ve gotten the concrete poured on the back patio and have begun painting out here.
They’ll have two great entertaining areas out here. One under the covered area and then another on the far right off the family living room.
Thanks for following along! Great job Howse Team!

The Howse House: Flooring & Cabinetry Installation
Hello, Howse House followers! We’ve got so many new images to share with you today from the Northwest Arkansas Howse House renovation site. The new flooring has been installed and will be stained at a later date, but it’s looking so good! The Howse team was so excited to get that going. Also, kitchen cabinetry has been installed and cabinetry in other areas of the house as well, like the bathrooms and bar area, have also been installed. Our last update showed the newly painted exterior, so keep scrolling to see these pretty new floors and so much more…
Below are images of the flooring being installed, which will be stained (more on those design decisions later)…
Here are also a peek at the new doors that have been chosen to be installed throughout the Howse House…
We are so excited to share the kitchen cabinetry with you as well. The new layout of the kitchen is opposite of the original floor plan. The main kitchen area and cabinetry is now on the backside of the house, so that large window looks out to the backyard. The large window will provide so much wonderful natural light and with the sink right below–it’ll be perfect. Just look at that vent hood cabinetry and the large opening to the right for the side by side oversized fridge! Wow!
Here’s another view of the kitchen to show the wall of cabinets opposite the hood and range. Also, looks to us like a farmhouse sink will be installed and we couldn’t be happier!
So much thoughtful planning went into this new kitchen and eat-in area that’s on the other end of the space…Can’t you just imagine plates and entertaining pieces displayed beautifully in the larger open middle cabinets? Or maybe a collection of cookbooks? Stay tuned!
We’ve even got a peek at the laundry room so far…looks like a great amount of hidden storage for this space, as well as the sink and additional storage underneath.
Here’s a look at the master bathroom…
And, here’s the cabinetry installed under the stairs, which will be the bar area…cheers to new cabinetry!
I’d say a big hats off goes to the Howse team! Wondering about the stain color of the flooring? Anxious to hear what paint colors have been chosen for the kitchen cabinets? We are too! You’ll have to check back for the next update. We have loved sharing the progress of this Howse House renovation with you and can’t wait fill you in on even more of the design process and decisions that have been made for the next steps in the renovation process. We are getting so much closer to the final reveal, which will be featured in an upcoming issue! Thanks for following along!

The Howse House: A New View
Today’s update at The Howse house is all about maximizing the view! They are installing new floor to ceiling windows and doors on the back of the home to maximize the view of the golf course. New doors are also being installed that will lead out to the back patio. They aren’t leaving the view to the downstairs either. The Howse team is adding large windows and an additional dormer window to take advantage of the golf course and city view in each upstairs room that faces east. Let’s take a look!
On the back exterior of the house, you can see that new floor to ceiling windows and doors will be installed (bye tall skinny windows), and also the added dormer on the far left.
Here’s an interior view of the new dormer added in the upstairs den for some much needed natural light for this space.
Here Jay marks the location of the new doors that will lead out to the back patio.
Here’s a peek at the new exterior patio roof they’ve added.
There have been unexpected delays that have come up along the way, as shown from the pile of dirt in the kitchen. This was a foundation issue that they ran into, which has now been fixed. Not a fun part of the process, but necessary to fix.
The next big step will be painting the exterior once all windows & doors are installed. Can’t wait to share pics of the newly painted #HowseHouseOnChampions! Then, our next update will include some interior finishes that have been selected!

Stay tuned, the final reveal will be featured in an upcoming issue of At Home in Arkansas!

The Howse House: Home Renovation Project
We are thrilled to introduce an exciting home renovation project to you: The Howse House. We will be sharing every step of the construction, renovation, and design process right here as the Howse team renovates a 4,800 square foot house in Northwest Arkansas. Howse has two locations in Arkansas—Little Rock and Bentonville—and features hundreds of one-of-a-kind items, in-stock merchandise (at 40% off retail!), plus, free design services. They are pros in the design industry and we can’t wait to see what they do with this project.
The Howse House, located at 49 W. Champions Boulevard in Rogers, is a 5 bedroom/3 bath home starting out at 4,800 square feet. During the renovation process an additional bathroom will be added, making it a 5 bedroom/4 bathroom house with approximately 5,000 square feet of living space upon completion.
The home was chosen due to its location, location, location! The Howse House sits on a spectacular lot on hole #1 of Pinnacle Country Club with expansive views from every room in the house!
The Howse team is making big changes on both floors. Upstairs they will add dormers and large windows to showcase the location and views not only of the golf course, but also of the emerging Rogers skyline. Downstairs they will remove all the walls in the main living area to make way for floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding doors that open the space up to the outdoors. From the original layout, the changes will be dramatic!
Amazing view, right?!
We’ll share lots of photos of the project as they renovate and make big design decisions. The Howse team will even let you get in on the design process by helping them to choose different design details. This will be an exciting project to see from start to finish! A big thanks to Howse, for taking us all along for the ride!
Check back next week to see the interior “before” pictures and the final paint color for the exterior, and be sure to follow along for biweekly updates on design decisions as well as construction challenges and triumphs the Howse team may face along the way.
Another way to get in on the design action is to follow them on Instagram (@HowseNWA) using the hashtag #HowseHouseOnChampions to see images as they work on this one-of-a-kind project.
Plus, the final reveal will be featured in an upcoming issue of At Home in Arkansas!
