Our September “Kitchen & Bath” issue is out and we’re jumping right in with our first Room of the Week feature showcasing our beautiful and bold cover shot. For homeowners Randy and Lydia James, building houses is a way of life. For more than 26 years, the couple has been working together building homes for Arkansans, so when it came to creating their own dream residence they had a few ideas in mind. “Because we’ve built so many homes we knew what we didn’t want–and we didn’t want it to be too formal,” says Lydia. The Jameses worked with designer Miguel Newberg of M. N’Teriors on the project. Rich green cabinetry is the focal point, while the kitchen is full of functional details like the touch-release faucet and dish-washing and refrigeration drawers. Plus, the large island and separate breakfast table offer plenty of seating and work great for entertaining.
