Little Rock florist Silks A Bloom announced a new initiative to repurpose their floral centerpieces while giving back to the community. After weddings and special events, the floral team will take apart larger arrangements and reassemble them into smaller, household-size bouquets. These will be donated to an organization that might be able to benefit from the cheer fresh florals bring. “As it stands now, we would like to give the bride or event host a choice if there is a cause near and dear to them,” says Dale Adridge, owner of Silks A Bloom. So far, the 20th Century Lodge, Dorcas House, and Presbyterian Village Nursing Home have been recipients of the repurposed arrangements. “We know these arrangements won’t last a long time, but they are being given a second life, and it only takes a moment to make someone feel very special,” Dale says. To keep this initiative going, Silks A Bloom is seeking donations of small vases and vessels to be able to give away with the flowers.
The company will hold a glass drive the second Tuesday of every month (this month, July 9) at their headquarters at 5507 Ranch Drive, Suite 2. silks-a-bloom.com
