“We have found that, in keeping with being green, individuals and designers love to find an existing lamp from their home, a flea market or an antique mall and have it repurposed with new wiring and usually a whole new finish to achieve a totally new look.” – Robin & Scott Morris, The Shade Above
Have you ever had an old lamp rewired? Antique lamps from flea markets or vintage stores might lack the juice to light a room like they once did, but proper rewiring can give them a second life. Add a modern paint color or refinish them for a truly unique look. Other “green” options include having an old bottle, vase or urn wired and fitted with a shade to create a one-of-a-kind lamp.
