Her inspiration? A coastal lobster boil with Southern influence and a patriotic palette.

When you first meet Kim Lane, there are a few things you’ll figure out right away. For starters, she loves her home—the city of Conway, her neighborhood surrounded by parks and trails, and the white brick house she shares with her husband, Aaron, and her stepson, Gabe. She’s also passionate about connecting with people, which she gets to do in her day-to-day role as CEO of The Conductor, an entrepreneur-focused program based at the University of Central Arkansas. So it goes without saying that she’s happiest when she gets to combine the two and spend long hours with loved ones at her home.

For the final installment of her yearlong party idea series with At Home in Arkansas, Little Rock designer Tobi Fairley invites us into her dining room for a Valentine’s Day get-together. Fittingly, the room is adorned in pink while red roses, berries, and wine fill the table, a color combo ideal for the holiday. “I wanted this couples dinner to be a little dramatic yet romantic. When I think of Valentine’s Day, I think roses and diamonds, and more of a luxe occasion,” the designer says. Hosting a mother/daughter party is one of designer Tobi Fairley’s favorite holiday traditions. She and her daughter, Ellison, enjoy inviting Ellison’s classmates and their moms to their home—whether it’s for an ornament exchange or, this year, for a cookie swap. “I love a reason to get her friends together,” Tobi says, “and I also love to bake, so this is a perfect holiday party in my book.”

Following their Thanksgiving lunch, Shayla Copas and her husband, Scott, have a tradition they look forward to each year. “We have an after-5 soirée and invite friends and family to drop by from 5 p.m. until we go to bed,” the designer says.
