A Conway homeowner enlists the help of an experienced kitchen designer and the advice of a close friend to create the kitchen of her dreams
Designing the kitchen for the new construction home she shares with her husband, Don, was not something Kim Silvestri entered into lightly. It took years of planning—four to be exact—and a bit of help from a trusted designer along with lots of conversations with a close friend. “We waited four years to build after purchasing our lot, and I spent that time cutting things out of magazines and gathering pictures of rooms and products I liked,” says Silvestri.
Kathy Scharff, a close friend of Silvestri’s suggested she put the clippings to good use by making inspiration boards. “I made a board for every room in this house,” laughs Silvestri. So it’s no surprise when it came time to put the inspiration to use, she was prepared. She took her boards to Inside Effects in Little Rock where, with the help of designer Leslie Tetrev, she was able to make the vision a reality.
