In June, Belle & Blush announced a second location would be coming soon in the Heights. Owned by Merry Kline, the skincare and cosmetics store also provides makeup and esthetician services. Merry opened Belle & Blush in The Promenade in 2013 and expanded that store in 2018. Now, the additional location will be housed in the historic Heights Theatre, with Ashley Childers at the helm of interior design and Ashley’s husband, Garrett Childers of Wiggins and Childers, on board as the contractor….
Arkansas native Ashley Childers, who is the designer behind the Emporium Home furnishings line, recently launched a new jewelry line. The eponymous brand features necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and rings, all of which have been hand-sketched by Ashley in her Little Rock studio. She then partners with artisans around the globe to create the designs and personally selects all the semi-precious stones used. “Jewelry is personal, and it’s a reflection of our style. Most women have signature pieces they wear almost every day—pieces that have special meaning to them or that make a statement and show off who they are. I designed the Ashley Childers collection with those things in mind,” she says. The collection is currently available exclusively online at ashleychilders.com until February 2020 when it will be available in boutiques nationwide. ashleychilders.com

WHAT ARE YOUR THREE MUST-HAVE ITEMS FOR FALL 2014? 1) The Emporium Home “Lauren Sofa” in our yummy petite animal print. Its sexy curves and lush velvet upholstery creates the chicest spot for curling up with a glass of wine on a crisp fall night. 2) An Alicia Adams alpaca throw blanket. There has never been a more stylish way to to keep warm at a Razorback game! 3) Graphic black and white original art. It complements any color palate perfectly and adds a bit of edge to even the most feminine of spaces.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PAINT COLOR AT THE MOMENT? Down Home by Behr. My dining room has been this color for the past two years and I never tire of it. It’s as glorious in the morning sun as it is by candlelight and makes me smile each and every day.
WHAT IS THE LAST THING YOU PURCHASED FOR A CLIENT? The Lumens Prism from Pheromone by Christopher Marley. Morpho and Arhopala butterflies create a circular pattern and are brilliantly reflective. The composition is absolutely stunning and the perfect conversation piece.
IS THERE A DESIGN TREND OR PRODUCT YOU AR DYING TO TRY (OR PURCHASE FOR A CLIENT) ASAP? Installing our Emporium Home “Penelope” wallpaper in a dining room would be a dream. I would deck it out with a lavender grass cloth ceiling and crisp white trim, it would be the most fabulous backdrop for a festive Sunday brunch.
WHAT IS ONE DESIGN SECRET YOU CAN SHARE WITH OUR READERS? Always remember how important beautiful lighting is. To me, nothing dictates the way a space makes you feel more than gorgeous lamps, sconces and chandeliers. Take time choosing your lighting and buy what makes your eyes widen with excitement. We all deserve to live with beautiful things and feel completely inspired by our personal spaces.
