Considering Emilio Pucci was founded in Capri, nearly 40 years ago, it’s not surprising that a Pucci look would complement this Mediterranean-style outdoor space gracing the pages of our March Outdoor issue. Photographed by Nancy Nolan and designed by P. Allen Smith, it’s the Little Rock backyard (oasis) of Chip and Cindy Murphy.
(Sneak peek: Pucci was the inspiration behind one of our real weddings in our Spring/Summer 2010 Weddings issue, which we sent to press yesterday!)

From editor in chief Diane Carroll: “Our “Before & After” issue for May just went to press, and Design*Sponge is one of my favorite blogs to check for their before and after features. This one is classic–you won’t believe the sofa and chair transformations. (“Before and after: Modern two-tone sofa and chair makeovers” from Design*Sponge)
From art director Mandy Keener: “This is a chair nerdâs dream! Adding to this to my wish list pronto!” (“Kartell Master’s Chair” from Design Milk)
From account executive Stevi Jackson: “Love this collection! These pillows would look wonderful right below a grouping of Mindy Lacefield art…” (“Tangible Art Thursday: Sunkan Art Home Goods” and “Paintings by Timssalley” from Ever So Lovely)
From marketing/special projects coordinator Lauren Strother: “What beautiful color combinations and technique. These gorgeous paintings get me in the mood for spring!” (“Michelle Armas” from Kelly Market)
From associate editor Paulette Pearson: “What better way to display your dresses than on gold hangers?” (“Fashion as Art” from Plush Palate)

From assistant art director Laura LaRue: “Love the dress! And such a fun chair! Brightened up my day for sure!” (“This and that” from Oh Joy!)
From marketing coordinator Megan Lindsey: “I would just like to somehow transport myself to this spot. It looks like heaven on earth. A little guesthouse, a mini pool and the beach just feet away. Sounds like perfection to me! I hope you get to spend your weekend at the beach. And if not, you can just daydream like me! Happy Friday!” (“Vacation” from ZsaZsa Bellagio)
From editor in chief Diane Carroll: “I’ve been enjoying the summery looks on this blog from the South. Especially love this one with bee skeps…instant texture indoors or out, and so fun when used as light fixtures.” (“French bee skeps” from Under Spanish Moss)
From account executive Stevi Jackson: “It has been HOT, HOT, HOT here in Arkansas this week – too hot to go outside. I’m feeling a little claustrophobic, so these beautiful GREEN outdoor spaces have stolen my heart!! No dead grass in any of these shots. SO refreshing…” (“Inner gardens” from Desire to Inspire)
From associate editor/online editor Paulette Pearson: “It’s the details that make a house a home. Have long loved minerals, and this idea for turning them into customized knobs is definitely one I would like to try. So rustically elegant and unique.” (“Custom hardware knobs” from Full House)
From account executive Catherine Barron: “In honor of the October Fall Fashion issue we’re currently working on, in combination with the biggest heat wave Arkansas has seen, I’m still thinking skirts for fall. Especially since it stays warm in Arkansas ’til November some years! (“Summer skirts to take you into fall” from Second City Style)

Elie Saab’s dreamy Spring 2012 runway collection featured a virtual rainbow of colors, not unlike the fantastic paperweight collection we featured in our Jan/Feb issue! The colors make them both an utter delight to look at, especially during the gray days of winter, don’t you think? In fact, the collector displays her paperweights as a pop of color in her formal living room for all to see! Check out the full story on these paperweights here, and for the full effect of Elie Saab’s collection (lots more looks on the runway!), click here.
