At Home in Arkansas: What is your favorite Arkansas destination? Jeff Garner: Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. I’ve only been twice, but I want to go back again and again. It’s truly a world-class gem.
AHIA: Name your treasures. What do you own that you just couldn’t do without? JG: My family is what I treasure most in this world. But in terms of belongings it would be my museum-quality art collection, which includes pieces by Whistler, Rembrandt, Buhot, Robbe, Guerrard, Baumann, Burr, Lichtenstein, Neiman, and more. I could do without it, but I really enjoy the collecting, the history and the visual enjoyment of it all.
AHIA: Name one experience that’s on your “bucket list.” JG: A European cruise from Amsterdam to Bucharest.
AHIA: What are your favorite things about your home? JG: I love living in the Heights, especially this time of year, when the trees and flowers are in bloom. My home is elegant yet “homey” and comfortable. It tastefully lends itself to displaying some of our art and entertaining friends.
AHIA: What’s a common misconception about dentists that you’d like to clear up? JG: In the field of cosmetic dentistry, all the education in the world can never compensate for a lack of talent. It takes natural, God-given artistic talent.
AHIA: What’s your favorite food that, as a dentist, you consider a “no-no”? JG: Although it’s not a food, per se, ice! Who doesn’t like to get to the ice in a Sonic drink? Frozen watern “crunched” into 98.6 degree teeth causes enamel cracking…not good!”
Thanks, Dr. Jeff!
