A signature palette and romantic furnishings bring a touch of the countryside to this Little Rock home

While her address has changed through the years, one color combo has been a mainstay throughout each of this Little Rock homeowner’s abodes. “Pink and green have always been my colors,” she says. “I even had a pink couch in my first house.” When she and her husband decided to make a move to this residence, they turned to longtime designer Susan Walsh to incorporate the hue while also giving the home a cozy, refined appeal.

For a homeowner with serious allergies, Shine Interior Design Studio creates a sanctuary that doesn’t compromise on style

In west Little Rock’s Falstone neighborhood, a newly constructed home has been designed to accommodate the homeowner’s severe latex allergy, down to every detail. Natalie Biles, founding partner and lead designer of Shine Interior Design Studio, says it was a joy to work with the homeowners on “creating a home that works for them.” “Everything was very carefully chosen to be the healthiest that it could be,” Natalie says. From the materials used in the construction of the home to the interior furnishings, each choice reflects her intention to design a comfortable space where the family can feel at ease. “This was their opportunity to create a safe environment that they could really enjoy, because she spends a lot of her time at home. They just wanted a place that was a haven and also beautiful,” she says.

Debi Davis updates a west Little Rock residence with a chic, livable aesthetic

A dark palette, ornate details, and stained wood were hallmarks of this Chenal home when the now-owners purchased the property. “This house was one of the original ones in the neighborhood and had not been updated,” says designer Debi Davis, who helped the couple tackle a renovation of the home. Eager to refresh in a way that reflected their clean yet approachable style, the owners called on Debi to breathe new life into the rooms. “They wanted to give it an airy feel and a look that was not cluttered,” she says of the couple’s goals for the project. “Most of the time our clients have a look that leans more transitional than traditional, and we help them bring that to life.”

Jessica and Bill Parkinson build on years of experience to create a family home suited for this season of life

There’s no slowing down in the life of a builder. Just ask Jessica and Bill Parkinson, owners of Parkinson Building Group in central Arkansas. This house high on a hill in Roland’s Waterview Estates is their sixth new construction, and they’re certain it won’t be their last. “Every time we build we learn things that work and things that don’t work,” Bill says, noting there’s an element of freedom in knowing each residence is not necessarily their forever home.

Employing transitional style with a coastal flair, designer Ashley Brewer helps a Marion family get the most from their home

When Brittney and Alex Dean bought their home in Marion eight years ago, they knew they’d found the one. “We loved the bones, the size for just starting a family, and the location,” Brittney says, noting both its proximity to nearby Memphis and friends in the neighborhood. However, the house seemed to shrink as their two children reached late elementary school, prompting the desire for more space without making a move. In 2020, as the family found themselves together more than ever, they decided it was time for changes that would make the most of their cherished home. Enter Ashley Brewer, a longtime friend who had recently launched her interior design business.
