Last month, Cara Wilkerson of Live the Home Life wowed us with a first glimpse at one of her biggest and most impressive home improvements yet, her kitchen. This month, she’s back with the big reveal. One thing’s for sure: Cara’s new kitchen is cookin’!
April already?! My goodness how this year is flying by. With one mega DIY kitchen remodel underway in my neck of the woods, it’s no wonder the hands of time are ticking by with little notice. Last I left you, my kitchen had gone from dark and dated with few functioning appliances capable of toasting bread, let alone dishing out a full-fledged meal…
To much lighter and much brighter with reworked and refaced cabinets, new stainless appliances and countertops just itching to be replaced.
I won’t even try to lie to you. The day my countertops arrived was by far among the top 10 moments of my twenty-something life. Maybe I need to get out more, but seeing these quartz beauties march into my construction site was a definitely high point.
After a couple calls to plumbers and electricians to tie up a few loose ends, then came a white subway tile backsplash DIY-ed by yours truly.
Topped off with a few touchups and accessories and Phase 2 of DIY Kitchen Remodel 2012 was a wrap!
So now that Phase 2 is D-O-N-E, what’s next? Connecting the laundry room to the kitchen by knocking through the separating wall and tiling the laundry room and kitchen floors. Check back soon as the madness continues!
