Behind the Art: Holly Tilley
Little Rock’s Pleasant Ridge Shopping Center is home to a unique local treasure: Art Group Gallery. Founded and operated by area artists, it is a true working gallery where area artists have a studio to paint and can display their works to sell in the front of the shop. Follow along as we feature different artists each month who will each share the inspiration and stories behind a few of his or her pieces.

As one of the founders and co-owners of Little Rock’s Art Group Gallery, Holly Tilley is a well-known name on the Little Rock art scene. “Artists are storytellers; we try to evoke emotion,” Holly says. “A good painting stops you to explore what’s there and what might happen next. We’re trying to take you to that place that made us want to connect with you.”
In her current direction, Holly is exploring abstracting subjects and focusing on the subtle color shifts that create these forms. “I tend to paint from life and nature; paintings are literally everywhere I look,” she says. Holly notes local art has a place in everyone’s home, and knowing what inspires the artist can allow collectors to create a connection with a piece. Here, in her own words, she shares the story behind four of her recent works, several of which are available through Art Group Gallery.

He’s joined by a team of qualified individuals, including Diane Orrell, RN, and aesthetician Stefanie Ashley, who offered advice on these procedures for the summer. “Hydrafacials result in a more hydrated, bright, and clear complexion,” Stefanie says. “Over time with consistent scheduling and treatment, you can also expect a reduction of fine lines, increased firmness, even tone and texture, and lightened brown spots.” Hydrafacials can also reduce the appearance of large pores and allow skin care products to penetrate the skin more effectively. …

At Home in Arkansas: You haven’t always been in the real estate field. Tell us a bit about your early career. How did this lead you to discover your passion for homes?
Realtor Catherine Young: I moved to Little Rock in the summer of 2009. I had just finished graduate school and landed my dream job at Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH). Through my tenure and various professional roles at ACH, I discovered I had a passion for construction. This led me to building my second residential home in the Chenal Valley area in 2015. As the story goes, life changes and a few years later, I was newly married and needed a new home to start a family. This led my husband, Dan, and me to build a custom home in the neighborhood he had lived in for 18 years. Through all of these experiences, I realized my continued interest in homes and residential real estate was more than just a hobby….
